Covid-19
Staying safe and well at home
The outbreak of COVID-19 presents one of the country’s most significant challenges in recent years. We at My Care World, understand this is an extremely worrying time for everyone, not least for the older and more vulnerable members of society and their loved ones.
Our caregivers here at My Care World are here to deliver essential care to clients and also offer support such as advice to stay physically and mentally active and well at home, for example, nutrition and exercise. They can also support with shopping and picking up medication and helping older people to stay connected with family and friends remotely through technology.
Our offices are working hard throughout the crisis to ensure that our clients get the support they need during this time, as well as ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our caregivers as key workers out there delivering care at home.
We are following the Governments’ guideline on delivering home care during this time to ensure that we are minimising the risk of spreading the illness whilst still providing our vital service to clients so that they can stay safe and well at home.
We also continue to follow direction provided by the UK’s Public Health Authorities and World Health Organisation and keep a close eye on the situation.
Everything we do is always with the wellbeing of our clients, teams and foremost in our minds at this difficult time.
Check if you have symptoms
The symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are usually mild, but some people can become very unwell.
Main symptoms
- high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
- loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal
Most people with coronavirus have at least one of these symptoms.
